Flower Festival- Orphaned Wool Rug Hooked Pattern

This rug design was inspired by the early 17th century English crewel designs. The combination of the flowing centerpiece design along with the contrast of a more modern edge is what I really enjoyed about this finished rug. Additionally, the color was a new twist on what you would typically think of in crewel design. The small "pop" of intense colors along with each of the corners hooked differently added some whimsy and visual interest to this rug design.

Flower Festival original design and hooked by Kelly Kanyok. This design was completed in 2016. Measuring 32x45 on linen. 100% hand and milled dyed wool. Hooked in 3,4,& 5 widths.
