Orphaned Wool Punch Needle Patterns are available in two formats: Paper Patterns & Patterns on Weaver's Cloth.* Note: Some patterns are available to purchase with the custom thread kit*
All Orphaned Wool Punch Needle Patterns include a Full-Color Thread Placement Guide. The Placement guide is a beautiful visual guide that details where each thread color is in the design, along with the Instructions and pattern in your choice of format-Paper Pattern or Pattern on Weavers Cloth.
Orphaned Wool patterns also provide a choice of thread companies you can use to complete the design. Offers different options in Thread companies like DMC Floss and Valdani Threads and, for some patterns Rustic Moire Wool Threads, making obtaining the supplies more easily accessible. In addition, it allows you to use a combination of thread types to complete your pattern.
The pattern includes instructions on creating the design, the needle length settings or changes, Thread type, estimated amounts needed to complete the design, and any special instructions. Orphaned Wool designs were all created using the Ultra Punch Needle, also available here; see Supplies in the main menu.
Paper Patterns: These patterns are ready to be traced on a piece of woven cloth fabric. I recommend using a small lightbox to help trace the paper pattern and a Micron 05 Archival Ink Pen to trace the design onto your weaver's cloth fabric.
Weavers Cloth Patterns: High-quality Weavers Cloth fabric is used for these patterns. The pattern is ready to be placed on your frame or hoop; They are our "ready-to-go patterns"; no tracing is needed. Just start punching!
Some patterns offer Custom Thread Kits- DMC Floss, Valdani Perle Cotton, or Rustic Moire Wool Threads; see the pattern for thread kit options- Some are offered only while supplies last; see the design for availability.
See Supplies for Weavers Cloth, Ultra Punch Needles, Tips & Technique booklet & other Punch Needle supplies.
