Quick Split Clip- 6-Strand Thread Divider Clip
Quick Split Clip- 6-Strand Thread Divider Clip
This Quick Split Clip is weighted perfectly to hold the bottom of your 6-strand thread (DMC Floss) while you separate longer strands of thread quickly and easily. (2 Clips enclosed)
Cut 2-3 full arm lengths (approximately 6 feet) of any 6-stand thread like DMC Floss at one time to separate them, usually in half (3 strands) each, which is the easiest to separate, but you can also separate 2 and 4 strands.
Attach the clip at one end of the cut thread, drop it to the floor, and start separating your threads by holding the other end up as high as possible. Hence, the thread is straight, and then begin the separation process by unraveling the three strands on each side, allowing it to spin and unwind.
The clip weight gives the thread some tension, and this allows the thread to unwind and separate easily. This clip system also makes it easy to effortlessly separate much longer pieces of thread, giving you more thread length provides more working time before rethreading your punch needle.
When you are done separating your threads, attach the clip to the side of your Weaver’s Cloth fabric on your frame or hoop so you don’t lose your clip.
It is a simple concept- but a beneficial and quick process that will make working with any 6-stand thread or floss much more enjoyable.
