The Quick Split Clip is designed to make separating 6-strand threads (such as DMC Floss) faster, easier, and far less frustrating. Its weighted design gently holds the thread in place so you can divide longer lengths smoothly, with less tangling and more control. (Includes 2 clips)
For best results, cut 2–3 arm lengths of thread (about 6 feet) at a time. You can separate the strands into halves (3 strands each), which is the easiest method, or divide into 2 or 4 strands depending on your project needs.
To use, attach the clip to one end of your cut thread and let it hang toward the floor. Hold the other end up high so the thread stays straight and untwisted. Gently begin separating the strands, allowing them to naturally unwind as you work.
The weight of the clip creates light, steady tension that helps the strands release cleanly and evenly. This makes it easier to prepare longer lengths of thread at once, so you can spend less time prepping and more time creating.
When you’re finished, simply clip it onto your Weaver’s Cloth, hoop, or project area so it stays with your work and doesn’t get lost.
It’s a simple tool, but it makes working with 6-strand thread noticeably smoother, faster, and more enjoyable — I don’t work without it.
